In addition, or perhaps because of my love of music, history and boats, I have another obsession: Sea Lass.
Sea Lass was built in 1930 in Rosneath, Scotland. She was built by James A. Silver Ltd., as a "gentleman's" yacht with space for crew. She measures 52 feet in length, 11 1/2 feet beam and a draft of 5 feet. She's currently powered by twin BMC diesel ( we'll be installing a hybrid electric propulsion system in 2008. Watch for updates.
Most of Sea Lass' life has been spent in southern England and Holland (a plaque in the pilot house honors her contribution to the heroic rescue at Dunkirk in 1940). She was shipped to the Pacific Northwest in 2002. We purchased her as our home in 2005.
